Hello there! Hopefully you guys had a great weekend and a lovely Valentine’s day! It sure was a crazy weekend around the papermill. The 3rd annual Love on the Run was a HUGE success! Thanks so much to everyone that came out and sent some love! As usual, there were some truly touching valentine’s going out. Several of the stories went above and beyond the traditional love note. Grandparents, children, and lovers alike were the targets of these tiny little love vessels.
We had over 250 notes composed in just 2 days! Here’s a quick glimpse at the mushy-gushy mayhem:
Like every year, we get a fantastic response from recipients. Some were touched, some were anxiously waiting, and some were completely surprised. One of my favorite things about this event is hearing some of the stories of the deliveries! We are always so warmly received! With cookies baked for us, warm drinks offered, and smiles aplenty, no wonder we had some tearing up. Here are a couple of happy recipients:
Thanks again to our sponsors: The Cup, Hillis & Co., Screen Ink, Indigo Bridge Books, Bread & Cup, the Lichen. They truly made this year’s Love on the Run bigger and better than ever before. And thanks to Caleb Bailey for playing some lovely live music to set the mood on Saturday, and to Studio Orange for some great photos. Of course NONE of this would be possible without the 18 fantastic volunteers who sacrificed a few hours on their Valentine’s day to help us get all the notes delivered! Thank you, thank you, thank you! We’re really looking forward to next year!
If you were the lucky recipient of one of these notes, or if you were a sender and got a noteworthy response, we’d like to hear it! Please share your experiences with us! You can comment here on the blog, or go to our Facebook page, or even Tweet your experience with hashtag: #loveontherun! Can’t wait to hear your stories!

We brought the kids in with hopes of making a special Valentine for their Great Grandparents. What a great atmosphere you had set up that Saturday morning! The kids LOVED typing on the “old school” type writers. Their Great Grandparents were thrilled and surprised to get a delivery the next day. Thanks for making it such a memorable Valentines day for all of us!
