who are they?:Porridge Papers is headed by the two geniuses known as Christopher James and Samantha McCulloch. Aside from working really well together, people usually either think they’re married or related (neither of which is true).
Of course, they can’t do it all ! And at any given time you will find various paper elves running around the mill.
Christopher first had the vision that is Porridge Papers. in his house back in 1993 when he first got creative with that $20 papermaking kit he picked up from the art store. He’s the guy we go to when: something is broken or needs to be built, when something requiring lots of numbers needs to be figured out, and when bills need to be paid. Lately, he mainly tinkers with all of our presses and keeps them running in tip-top shape (or as close as he can get them). He only makes paper when he absolutely has to and you will find that he very rarely cleans up after himself.
Samantha jumped on the paper wagon in 2002. Since then she has stepped up to do everything she can to keep Christopher’s head on straight- starting by finding his coffee cup for him every morning when he comes in. Now that Christopher has multiple coffee cups, her main focus is making paper. As such, she is the queen of color matching. Even with all of the paper making she does- she is becoming quite the pressman (after all, she has been printing just about as long as she’s been making paper). Her favorite things about printing include: the way the ink colors swirl together when mixing ink, the clunky rhythm of the presses, the hiss of the ink on the rollers, and seeing the finished product.
